History

The SJHL had their first of two draftees this year with defenseman 18-year-old Brennan Turner of the Notre Dame Hounds going 134th overall in the fifth round to the Chicago Blackhawks. Turner will attend Yale in the fall.

2007-08: Turner chose to forgo his senior season at Yale University and, instead, signed an “amateur tryout” contract with the Rockford IceHogs. During his three years at Yale, Turner registered three points in 58 games. Turner has always been known as a physical, defensive defenseman so offense was never his strong suite. In four games with the IceHogs, he was held scoreless but managed to tally 14 penalty minutes.

Talent Analysis

Turner is a powerful, defensive defenseman with a very strong work ethic. He needs to become a better skater but is willing to improve his game by any means necessary.

Future

Turner’s future is uncertain, as he has not been signed by the Blackhawks.
