Antoine Lafleur

Prospect Grade: 7.0 D  (About Prospect Grades)

Profile Contributed By: Leslie Treff

History

For the past two seasons, LaFleur has played with the QMJHL PEI Rocket. During his rookie 2005-06 season, LaFleur served as a backup to Ryan Mior, only playing in 18 games. After learning the ropes, last season he stepped into the number one role between the pipes and  was much more impressive on a team that was  in the middle of the pack talent-wise. LaFleur kept the Rocket in the playoff hunt, going 8-3 and 7-4 in the all important January and February months.

Talent Analysis

"Antoine moves very well for a big guy, especially up and down. He times his butterfly style well, knows his angles and how to play shots that he is screened on."  Gordie Clark, NY Rangers Director of Player Personnel.

Future

LaFLeur is a big netminder, who has the potential to become an NHL netminder in 4-5 years.
