History

Knee surgery cut rookie OHL season short, but rebounded nicely in his sophomore season.

2007-08: Berti did a lot of traveling during the season, as he saw time in the ECHL, AHL and NHL. However, most of the season was spent in Rockford, where he recorded seven points and a career-high 68 penalty minutes in 42 regular season games. Berti made his NHL debut with Chicago on April 4 and scored his first professional post-season goal on May 9 with the Rockford IceHogs.

Talent Analysis

Has power forward tools, but not the mentality. He will use his body to protect the puck, needs to start using it to go get the puck by knocking opponents off of it. He is a player who could really blossom as he regains confidence in his knees and game. Has a lot of upside.

Future

Berti possesses the size to be an effective power forward but needs to regain the scoring touch from his junior days if he is going to make it in the NHL. He will likely be a regular with Rockford next season.
